Amusement parks open all year round (no winter break)

Most parks have a winter event that runs until early January, but then it’s often “off to the off-season.” However, there are also more and more parks that are open all year round, offering their visitors a destination for excursions during the winter months. Austria

Vienna Prater: The Wurstelprater area is generally open 365 days a year. The opening hours of individual attractions vary during the winter season, but some attractions are open when the weather is nice.

Belgium

Plopsa Indoor Hasselt: The park, which is mainly indoors, is open all year round as it is not dependent on the weather. However, the park is sometimes closed on Tuesdays and Thursdays (see the website for detailed information). The park is best suited for families with small to medium-aged children.

France

Disneyland and Disney Studios: The two Disney parks in Paris are open all year round. There you can meet your favorite Disney characters and enjoy lots of fun attractions. There are also some indoor rides that can be used even in bad/cold weather.

Germany

Funny World: The Tortuga indoor hall and the rest of the park are open when the weather is suitable. In January and February, there are closing days during the week (see website). The family park offers over 50 attractions, but these are aimed more at younger children.

Holland Park: Holland Park is open every day, 365 days a year. It features an indoor play area, mini golf, a museum, a market hall, a garden center, and restaurants. You can even visit the grounds on public holidays.

Karls Erlebnisdörfer: Karls Erlebnisdörfer (all locations) are also open every day of the year. The parks are great for the whole family and offer indoor and outdoor activities. However, please note that individual rides may be closed due to maintenance and/or weather conditions.

LandErlebnis Janßen: This family-run amusement park in Lower Saxony offers fun for the whole family. Until the end of March, the park is open from Friday to Sunday (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.). Indoor play areas are available in case of bad weather or cold temperatures.

Nordsee Spielstadt Wangerland: The park is open on weekends in winter and offers attractions and play facilities for children aged 2 to 14. There is a large indoor hall that offers lots of fun in warm and dry conditions when the weather is bad.

Oskarshausen: Oskarshausen is not just a normal amusement park, but an entire world of adventure for the whole family. From attractions and interactive games to exhibitions and restaurants. In January, the park is only open on weekends, but from February 4, it will be open every day.

Ring Werk: The motorsport experience museum is open to visitors every day. The only restrictions are on Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve. The large indoor hall offers various attractions, interactive activities, exhibitions, and a go-kart track.

Serengeti Park: The park is a combination of amusement park and zoo and also offers several accommodation options for the whole family. The park is usually open every day from 1:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., but there are occasional closing days (please check the park’s website for information).

Sonnenlandpark: Sonnenlandpark is geared more towards families with small children and offers countless playgrounds and attractions. There is also an indoor play area for bad weather. Opening hours vary during the winter season, so please check the park’s website for the latest information.

Netherlands

Bommelwereld: This relatively new indoor park is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. It has everything from playgrounds and carousels to a roller coaster, all protected from the weather. A great destination for a day out in the winter months.

Dippie Doe Attractiepark: Dippie Doe is a combination of indoor and outdoor park. Indoors, there is a large dining hall with climbing frames, slides, and more, and outdoors there are several attractions and play areas. The park is closed on certain days during the week. Efteling: Efteling is open 365 days a year and offers fun for the whole family. There is a wide range of diverse attractions and an extensive fairytale forest. To warm up in cold temperatures, there are also indoor attractions and excellent restaurants.

Mondo Verde: Mondo Verde is a combination of zoo, world gardens, and amusement park. So there is plenty to experience for the whole family. Attractions such as roller coasters and carousels are open on alternate days. The park is open daily until January 4, after which opening hours may vary.

Plopsa Indoor Coevorden: With the exception of a few attractions, the park is located in an indoor hall. This makes it the perfect place to spend a fun day, even in the cold winter months. The park is currently closed on Mondays and from January 26 to 30.

Toverland: Toverland is an amusement park with two large indoor halls, meaning it can be visited all year round. It has everything from playgrounds to a small roller coaster. Opening hours may vary (please check the website).

Poland

Majaland Kownaty: The amusement park boasts a beautiful outdoor area, but there is also an indoor hall. This means you can still enjoy yourself even when the weather is bad or cold. Opening hours and closing days vary. Detailed information is available on the website.

Spain

Parque de Atracciones Monte Igueldo: This park is located at the top of a mountain and offers breathtaking views of the landscape in addition to attractions. The park is also open all year round.

USA

Adventure City: The park is located in California and is open on weekends during the “winter season.” However, Adventure City is geared more toward families with children aged four to twelve.

Belmont Park: Thanks to its location in California, this pier park is open 365 days a year. Located right on the beach, you can expect a number of attractions with ocean views. From traditional carousels to thrill rides and wooden roller coasters, there’s something for everyone.

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay and Busch Gardens Williamsburg: The park in Tampa, Florida is open daily, whereas the park in Williamsburg, Virginia has a few closing days. Both parks offer a wide range of attractions and there is guaranteed to be something for everyone.

Disneyland and Disney California Adventure: Disneyland Resort, including the original Disneyland, is open 365 days a year. Here you can enjoy countless adventures with Mickey and his friends and immerse yourself in the exciting world of Walt Disney.

Fun Spot America: Atlanta, Kissimmee, and Orlando: The two parks in Kissimmee and Orlando are open every day as usual. The situation is slightly different at the park in Atlanta: only the indoor hall is open during the week, but the entire park is open on weekends.

Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park: The park is open from Friday to Sunday until the beginning of March. However, some attractions remain closed during this period due to weather conditions. For detailed information, please check the website.

Icon Park: This entertainment center in Orlando is a combination of several attractions, including Sea Life, Madame Tussauds, a museum, and many other highlights. Accordingly, some attractions are indoors in case the weather in Florida is bad. Please check the website for the opening hours of the individual attractions.

iPlay America: This park is completely indoors, so it’s fun no matter what the weather is like. iPlay is usually open from Wednesday to Sunday. The whole family will have a blast with attractions, a golf simulator, laser tag, and much more.

Johns Incredible Pizza Company-Carson: This pizzeria not only serves delicious food, but also offers arcade games and rides. The entertainment center is open daily and is located entirely indoors.

Kemah Boardwalk: The Boardwalk Park is typically located right on the waterfront in Texas. Due to the warm climate, the park is open daily. There are several attractions, arcade games, boat tours, and animal adventures.

Knotts Berry Farm: Knotts Berry Farm is located in California and is therefore open 365 days a year. The park is beautifully designed and has a wide range of attractions.

Legoland California and Florida: Both Legolands are open daily during the winter season, except on Wednesdays. They are perfect family parks where you can spend an adventurous day with Lego characters.

Mt. Olympus: The indoor amusement park and indoor water park at Mt. Olympus in Wisconsin Dells are open year-round. This means that attractions, leisure activities, and water slides are available even in bad and cold weather.

Nickelodeon Universe New Jersey and Minnesota: Both parks, themed around Nickelodeon, are completely indoors. But it’s not just the little ones who can enjoy the highlights, as there are also some thrilling attractions for older guests.

Pacific Park: This amusement park is arguably one of the most famous in the world. Located on the Santa Monica Pier, the park offers a colorful mix of attractions, arcade games, and restaurants, and is open year-round.
