The Halloween Horror Festival at Movie Park Germany will celebrate its 28th edition in 2026. From September 26 to November 8, 2026, the theme park will once again transform into the “Horrorwood Studios” for a total of 22 event nights. Under this year’s motto “Legends Never Die,” visitors can expect nine haunted houses, four scare zones and more than 300 scare actors. Among the biggest new additions are the new “Jason Universe” haunted house and “PHOBIA – The Live Horror Game Show.”
Several existing haunted houses will also receive updates for this year’s event. “Ahoj-Brause Horror Lab” will feature additional scare elements and an updated storyline, while “Murder Museum” will be expanded with a new scene.
New “Jason Universe” haunted house
The biggest new addition to the Halloween Horror Festival 2026 is the “Jason Universe” haunted house. For the first time, Jason Voorhees will make his way into the Horrorwood Studios. The new maze brings the world of the legendary horror character to life, drawing particular inspiration from the second through sixth films of the franchise.
The haunted house features a preshow followed by 14 scenes. Along the way, visitors will encounter several familiar locations from the franchise, including the camp, the woods and the iconic barn.
For the development of the attraction, Movie Park Germany’s creative team is working together with Leisure Expert Group and Props & Zo. Both companies were previously involved in the former “The Walking Dead Breakout” haunted house at the park. Leisure Expert Group is responsible for the theming and design of the individual scenes, while Props & Zo. is handling their physical construction.
“Jason Universe” is designed for visitors aged 16 and older and will take over the former location of “Secrets of St. Elmo – Last Hunt.” The haunted house had been part of the Halloween Horror Festival at this location since 2020 and will be replaced for the 2026 season.
New Live Horror Game Show
Another new addition awaits visitors in Studio 7. With “PHOBIA – The Live Horror Game Show,” Movie Park Germany is introducing a new interactive show format that turns members of the audience into part of the experience.
At the center of the show is fictional host Rudy von Hell, played by Dave van der Wal. Throughout the show, selected participants will face a variety of challenges designed to confront them with their fears. The format combines psychological horror with live entertainment, freak show performances and international show acts.
The production features performers from Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. “PHOBIA” is created and produced by Farla Showproductions.
“Ahoj-Brause Horror Lab” and “Murder Museum” to be expanded
Alongside the two major new additions, Movie Park Germany is also making changes to some of its existing haunted houses. “Ahoj-Brause Horror Lab,” which opened in 2025, will receive additional scare elements as well as an updated storyline.
The revised experience will place a greater focus on a taste test and the laboratory in which it takes place. Movie Park Germany is working with Kabuki on the additional theming.
The true-crime haunted house “Murder Museum” will also be expanded. A new scene will take visitors into a pathology room, adding a forensic perspective to the crimes of the serial killers featured throughout the attraction.
Nine haunted houses at Halloween Horror Festival 2026
A total of nine haunted houses will be part of the Halloween Horror Festival 2026. Alongside the new “Jason Universe,” numerous familiar mazes from previous years will return.
These include “Hell House,” “The Slaughterhouse,” “Circus of Freaks,” “Final Stop,” “Murder Museum” and “A Quiet Place.” The two haunted houses introduced in 2025, “Blood Moon Trailer Park” and “Ahoj-Brause Horror Lab,” will also return.
The haunted houses are complemented by four scare zones throughout the park. The traditional Monster Walk will once again kick off every event night, led by S.I.K., the sinister movie clapperboard and ruler of the Horrorwood Studios.
More shows and Halloween entertainment
Beyond the haunted houses, Movie Park Germany is also expanding its entertainment program. DJ Max Bering, known from PAROOKAVILLE, will once again perform in the “Acid Rain” scare zone. Stephan Nölle will also return to the Western Saloon with an updated hypnosis show.
Baboo Twister Plaza, located towards the back of the park, will once again feature its own Halloween program. In addition to rock music from a live DJ, visitors can expect a new show as well as a food zone serving cocktails. Movie Park Germany is once again partnering with radio station Star FM Maximum Rock for the area.
After dark, several attractions will also receive special Halloween treatments. “Movie Park Studio Tour – Final Cut” will once again feature its Halloween overlay, while “Baboo Twister Express,” “The Bandit” and “Star Trek™: Operation Enterprise” will be incorporated into the event with special lighting and Halloween elements.
Halloween Horror Festival from September 26 to November 8
The Halloween Horror Festival will take place for the 28th time in 2026, with a total of 22 event nights scheduled between September 26 and November 8.
On October 17, Movie Park Germany will also host its special event day in cooperation with the US initiative “Haunters Against Hate” for the fifth time. Together with more than 300 scare actors, the park aims to send a message in support of tolerance and equality. Plans include a Halloween parade and special lighting installations throughout parts of the park.
For younger visitors, Movie Park Germany will once again offer “Halloween for Kids” in a separate area of Nickelodeon LAND. Activities will include games and Halloween-themed crafts.
Regular park admission includes access to the Halloween Horror Festival and its four scare zones. Separate timed-entry tickets are required for the haunted houses and must be booked online in addition to regular park admission. Ticket sales are expected to begin in mid-September.
Movie Park Germany will also offer several optional upgrades again this year. The “Speedy Pass Horror” includes priority access to five haunted houses as well as the new Horror Game Show. The “S.I.K. VIP Pass” includes access to all haunted houses, including the new “Jason Universe,” reserved seating for “PHOBIA – The Live Horror Game Show,” and additional VIP benefits.
