Friday, September 26 Opening ceremony with barrel tapping

At 4:00 p.m., the traditional tapping of the keg will take place in the Klauss und Klauss festival tent by the mayor of Stuttgart. Only after the successful tapping beer may be served throughout the entire site.

Sunday, September 28 Swabian dialect church service

Starting at 11:00 a.m., there will be a church service in the Wilhelmers SchwabenWelt festival tent, conducted by Protestant pastor Tobias Schneider.

Sunday, September 28 Grand historical folk festival parade

A traditional parade featuring traditional costume groups and historical groups will take place from 11:00 a.m. to around 1:00 p.m. The approximately 3,600 participants will start at the Cannstatter Kursaal and then make their way towards Cannstatter Wasn.

Monday, September 29 VVS Wasentag

Upon presentation of a valid VVS ticket, pass, or Deutschlandticket, discounted prices are available at participating rides, stands, and tents. Participating businesses will have posters displayed.

Wednesday, October 1 & October 8 Family Days

On family days, there are reduced prices for the whole family. In addition, surprises such as stilt walkers, balloon artists, glitter tattoos, and a large wheel of fortune await the little ones.

Thursday, October 2 Ecumenical service

At 10:30 a.m., the large ecumenical service will take place in Linda Ade’s beer garden, accompanied by music.

Friday, October 10 Hot air balloon races

Here, various balloons compete in races and enrich the Wasen skyline. They take off from the courtyard of the new castle.

Sunday, October 12 Music Fireworks

From 9:30 p.m., the sky will light up in many colorful colors for the finale of the folk festival. Multiple pyrotechnics world champion Joachim Berner has designed the fireworks display to accompany the music.

Arrival by Bus and Train

Arrival by Car

There is a limited number of parking spaces available around Wasen Square. Parking lot P10 is subject to a fee (normal: €8, family day: €6, lunch parking: €4). We also recommend parking your car at a nearby Park&Ride parking lot and taking public transportation to the festival. There are designated free parking areas for motorcycles (Willi-Daume-Steg, “Cannstatter Wasen” tram stop, Wasentunnel).

Arrival by Bicycle

The festival grounds are easily accessible by bicycle. Parking facilities are available at Willi-Daume-Steg, the “Cannstatter Wasen” tram stop, at the Wasentunnel, and at the entrance to the Krämermarkt. Bicycle helmets and bicycle bags are not permitted on the festival grounds and must be locked in the luggage storage facilities.
