Movie Park Germany will celebrate its 30th anniversary during the 2026 season. Under its long-standing motto “Hollywood in Germany,” the theme park in Bottrop-Kirchhellen is planning a large anniversary program featuring new attractions, additional characters, new shows and numerous events throughout the year.
According to park management, the anniversary marks an important milestone in the park’s history. Visitors can look forward to special surprises, expanded entertainment offerings and further development of the park’s family-oriented attractions.
New Paramount attraction replaces “The Lost Temple”
One of the biggest additions for the 2026 season is the new Paramount attraction “Journey to the Forbidden Chamber,” which is scheduled to open in mid-May 2026. It will replace the former attraction “The Lost Temple.”
The new experience takes visitors behind the scenes of a fictional film production at the famous Paramount Pictures Studios in Los Angeles. In an immersive tunnel experience, guests move through different film sets, prop areas and show scenes, becoming extras in the production themselves.
For the design and theming of the attraction, Movie Park is working with P&P Projects, a company known for developing and building attractions for major theme parks around the world. The film featured in the attraction was produced exclusively for the park in November 2025 at the Paramount Studios in Los Angeles.
More details about the attraction will be revealed in a separate announcement.
More PAW Patrol characters in Adventure Bay
The park is also expanding its PAW Patrol offering in the Nickelodeon area.
Starting in summer 2026, three additional characters will join the lineup: Zuma, Rocky and Everest. Together with Chase, Marshall, Rubble and Skye, the park will feature seven PAW Patrol characters, which according to Movie Park makes it the park with the largest PAW Patrol character lineup worldwide.
In spring, the themed PAW Patrol vehicles will also return as photo spots, allowing children to sit in Chase’s police vehicle or Skye’s helicopter.
New Nickelodeon Street Show
Nickelodeon Land will also receive a new entertainment offering with the debut of a Nickelodeon Street Show featuring parade vehicles.
A total of four parade floats will be part of the show. Chase and Marshall will appear on their own floats, while SpongeBob and Patrick from Bikini Bottom will cruise through the area on nautical-themed vehicles. The show will be accompanied by music, walking characters and interactive moments with guests.
New park character S.I.A.
Another addition to the park’s entertainment lineup is S.I.A., a new female clapperboard character. She joins the already established character S.A.M. and will be available for meet-and-greet opportunities starting at the beginning of the season.
The character is also expected to appear in the park’s digital media content in the future.
Major anniversary parade
The highlight of the anniversary celebrations will take place on July 4, 2026, when the park celebrates its 30th birthday with a large event lasting into the evening.
On that day, the new parade “Movie Park’s Parade of Celebration” will make its official debut. The approximately 20-minute parade will travel along Hollywood Boulevard and present a journey through the world of film.
New parade floats, choreography, Hollywood-inspired costumes and a specially composed soundtrack by IMAscore are planned as part of the show. The floats are being developed by the Belgian company Kabuki.
Summer Nights events
During the summer holidays, the park will host several Summer Nights events with extended opening hours.
These events will take place on July 25 as well as August 1, 8 and 15. Guests can enjoy live music, cocktails and special food and beverage offerings throughout the evening.
Halloween Horror Festival returns
The Halloween Horror Festival will also return in 2026. The event has been a core part of the park’s seasonal program for more than 25 years.
In addition to the existing horror mazes, scare zones and shows, a new maze is currently planned. More than 280 monsters are expected to roam the park during the event.
Hollywood Christmas returns for its fourth season
At the end of the year, Movie Park’s Hollywood Christmas will return for its fourth edition.
The studio-themed park will be decorated with more than one million lights, along with festive decorations and a variety of holiday entertainment for families.
Additional shows and special events
Several new shows and special events are also planned throughout the season. These include:
- “Black Thunder” in the Saloon
- “Frequency” at Van Helsing’s Club
- “Turn Back Time” on the New York Plaza Stage
Illusionist Christian Farla will also return in summer with a new magic show.
Additional events planned for the season include the ELITE Cheerleading Championship, the Camera Day for photographers and content creators, as well as automotive events such as the US Car Show and Spotlight – Dein Auto im Rampenlicht.
With the wide range of new attractions, entertainment and seasonal events, Movie Park Germany aims to celebrate its anniversary year while continuing to strengthen its identity as Germany’s film-themed theme park.
