Slagharen Announces New Attraction “Sky Sifter” for 2026

March 3, 2026

The Dutch theme park and holiday resort Slagharen has announced a new attraction for the 2026 season. The new ride is set to combine thrill and family fun while offering two different ride experiences.

In 2024, the attraction “The Eagle,” a Condor ride manufactured by HUSS, was closed after nearly 30 years of operation and dismantled in 2025. A new experience is now being developed at this location within the park.

The new attraction will be named “Sky Sifter.” It will be a large Discovery Revolution 30 pendulum ride manufactured by the Italian company Zamperla. What makes Slagharen’s version unique is that guests can decide in the queue whether they want to experience an intense ride program with inversions or a more family-friendly version without inversions. Both options promise impressive views across the park, as the attraction reaches a height of 30 meters.

Guests choose their preferred ride program in the queue by selecting a route. The Gold Route is aimed at thrill-seekers, while the Silver Route focuses on family-friendly fun.

“Sky Sifter reflects our ambition to create experiences that bring different target groups together without compromise,” says Sander de Haas, General Manager of Slagharen. “By giving guests the freedom to choose their own level of adventure, we are expanding our Wild West world in a way that is both innovative and true to our identity.”

The Backstory

Once upon a time, there was a sheriff in the Wild West who was completely obsessed with gold. Day and night, he worked by the creek, building self-made machines to dig deeper and extract every sparkling fragment from the water. His ultimate and greatest invention now towers above the stream: “Sky Sifter.”

This colossal machine swings, sifts, and operates under constant pressure. According to legend, it can extract both gold and silver directly from the riverbed. At times, the pressure builds up so intensely that “Sky Sifter” turns completely upside down, sweeping everyone into an intense adventure filled with full rotations, dynamic movements, and breathtaking views.

A Further Step in Slagharen’s Development

With “Sky Sifter,” Slagharen is expanding its attraction portfolio with a ride that fits seamlessly into the park’s Wild West theme while appealing to different target groups. The choice between the Gold and Silver routes creates an individualized ride experience that caters to both families and thrill enthusiasts.

The new attraction represents an important building block in the park’s continued development. Further details will be announced via the park’s official social media channels as construction progresses.
