The Stoppelmarkt Vechta celebrates 727 years of the fair, which you can visit from August 14 to 19. The traditional market features over 500 exhibitors, including funfair rides, game booths, food stands, and various festival tents. All information about the fair can be found here.

August 14 Stoppelmarkt festivities
The parade, including floats, marching bands, and walking groups, begins at 4:30 p.m. At around 6:30 p.m., the mayor will officially open the Stoppelmarkt.
August 15 Happy Hour
Happy Hour takes place from 2 to 4 p.m. That means you only have to pay once, but you can ride twice.
August 18 Animal Show
The animal show takes place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the horse and cattle market area. It focuses on animal welfare and provides information on this topic.
August 19 Family Day and Fireworks
There are discounted prices until 6 p.m., and at 10 p.m. there is a big closing fireworks display.
Festival Tents
There will be over 25 festival tents, each offering a varied program. There is definitely something for everyone here—from the karaoke tent to the over-40s tent. Also worth mentioning is the alcohol-free tent, which is run by volunteers.
Directions & Parking
Arrival by Bus
Over 20 different bus routes will take you safely to the market square and back home again. There are also several bus companies that offer transportation from further afield. All information and timetables can be found on the official Stoppelmarkt website. Please bring the exact fare with you to ensure that everything runs smoothly.
Arrival by Train
The Stoppelmarkt has its own train station, and trains on the RB 58 line stop right outside the door. There are special ticket offers available during the fair. Bicycles and alcohol are not permitted on the trains. Detailed information is available on the official Stoppelmarkt website.
Arrival by Car
You can reach the venue via various highways. Please follow the special signs for “Stoppelmarkt” from the “Vechta” town entrance signs. This will automatically take you to one of the parking lots, which have a total capacity of around 30,000 cars. The parking lots are privately operated and subject to a fee.
Arrival by taxi cab
During the Stoppelmarkt festival, there are four additional taxi stands, which are clearly signposted and marked. These are served around the clock, but waiting times may still be longer than usual.
