On May 21, 2026, a new attraction called “Aviktas” will open at Blackpool Pleasure Beach amusement park in England. It is a Gyro Swing ride manufactured by Intamin.
The Gyro Swing is a type of giant swing that swings back and forth. The steel structure itself stands 88 meters tall, and the gondola swings up to 42 meters high. The rotating disc, which swings out up to 120 degrees, can accommodate a total of 40 people. The ride offers plenty of thrills and excitement. One truly unique feature is Aviktas’ location, as the park is situated right on the water, offering views of the sea. The ride has already been extensively tested and is now ready for its grand opening, coinciding with the park’s 130th anniversary season. Amanda Thompson, CEO of the park, says: “This isn’t just a new ride for Pleasure Beach, it’s a completely unique experience to UK theme parks as a whole. We have a history of going big and this certainly is no exception.”
