New themed area opens at Wunderland Kalkar

On July 1, 2026, a brand-new themed area will open at Wunderland Kalkar. “Himalaya – Valley of Legends” is set to transport us to a fascinating world full of myths and adventures. The new themed area combines adventure, physical activity, and learning for children.

Storyline

After traveling all over the world, the young adventurer Annika has returned to Wonderland. Now she wants to share her stories with the children in Wonderland. She was particularly captivated by the Himalayas—from the world’s most challenging airport to a ride on a dragon boat to the steep “Sherpa Track.”

Attractions

The new themed area focuses on play opportunities for children that combine fun and learning. It’s all about the nature, culture, and history of the Himalayas. The goal is to teach children about these topics in an interactive and playful way. This allows children to virtually relive Annika’s journey—from Lukla Airport, through the dragon boat and the Mani mill, all the way to the Sherpa Trail.
