The Halloween Fright Nights 2026 kick off at Plopsaland Deutschland on October 2. Across ten event nights, the theme park in Haßloch will transform into a world of horror with more than 150 scare actors. This year’s lineup includes six haunted houses, three scare zones and five additional Fright Nights shows. Among the biggest new additions are the new “NEXUS AI” haunted house, the “Lost: Deep in the Woods” experience and the new “Carnival Inferno” closing show.

The Halloween Fright Nights will take place every Friday and Saturday from October 2 through October 31, 2026. In addition to the horror experiences, guests can also enjoy many of the park’s regular rides, including “bigFM Expedition GeForce,” “Sky Scream,” the Free Fall Tower and “100% Wolf.” On selected event days, the Fright Nights program will begin as early as 3:00 p.m.

New haunted house “NEXUS AI”

One of the biggest new additions to the Halloween Fright Nights 2026 is the “NEXUS AI” haunted house. The new maze is set inside a research laboratory, where guests become part of an experiment involving artificial intelligence.

At the beginning, participants are recruited as test subjects for a research project designed to analyze their reactions and decisions. As they make their way deeper into the facility, however, the experiment begins to spiral out of control. Movements are monitored, data is collected and the boundaries between humans and machines begin to blur.

According to Plopsaland, the new haunted house is one of the event’s most extensive mazes. Guests make their way through various themed environments in small groups, with scare actors directly involving them in the storyline.

“Lost: Deep in the Woods” takes guests into the Palatinate Forest

“Lost: Deep in the Woods” is another new horror experience joining the event in 2026. It is set in a remote part of the Palatinate Forest, where legend has it that people have mysteriously disappeared without a trace.

Accompanied by a tour guide, guests follow the story into the darkness and venture deeper and deeper into the woods. The experience therefore offers a very different setting from the technology-driven “NEXUS AI.”

Six haunted houses at the Halloween Fright Nights 2026

Alongside the two new experiences, four familiar haunted houses return. In “Academy of Freaks,” the director of a deserted circus is searching for new talent and puts guests through a series of sinister challenges. “Titty Twister,” meanwhile, takes visitors into a dark bar centered around the character Miss Monique.

“Schnitzelhaus” also returns for the Halloween Fright Nights in 2026. Once again, the story revolves around the house’s butcher, who gets dangerously close to his guests. The haunted house has been updated for the new season. The same applies to “Mad Rat,” which tells the story of secret experiments that have transformed humans into giant rats.

Altogether, the 2026 lineup features six haunted houses: “NEXUS AI,” “Lost: Deep in the Woods,” “Academy of Freaks,” “Titty Twister,” “Schnitzelhaus” and “Mad Rat.”

Three scare zones throughout the park

In addition to the haunted houses, there are three scare zones. In “Skrämma,” battle-scarred Vikings return from the darkness, while “Scarecrow” features sinister scarecrows and other creatures lurking among the fields.

The third scare zone is “Murder District,” where chaos and revenge rule the streets. All three areas feature live scare actors and, unlike the enclosed haunted houses, can be freely explored by guests.

Five shows including the new “Carnival Inferno” finale

The show lineup is also being expanded in 2026. In “Freaks Reloaded,” the Freak Circus returns under new management. Reddles the Clown takes center stage in the new monster release show, which unleashes the creatures of the Fright Nights into the park.

“The Killing Games” has also been revamped. The wrestling show is set within the world of Murder District and pits selected fighters against each other.

Completely new for 2026 is “Carnival Inferno.” The large-scale closing show combines lighting and laser effects with fire and fireworks to bring the Fright Nights evening to a finale.

Also returning are “Flames of Valhalla,” featuring fire, Vikings and additional effects, as well as the “Fright Festival” with live DJs or bands. In total, the program features five Fright Nights shows: “Freaks Reloaded,” “The Killing Games,” “Carnival Inferno,” “Flames of Valhalla” and the “Fright Festival.”

New meet & greets with the monsters

Another new addition is a series of special meet & greets with characters from the Halloween Fright Nights. During “Meet the Monsters,” guests can encounter selected creatures outside the haunted houses and scare zones and take photos with them.

Reddles the Clown will also have his own dedicated encounter with “Meet Reddles the Clown.” In addition, the park will offer special Fright Nights merchandise.

“Nightmare Society” returns in 2026

The “Nightmare Society,” which was introduced last year, will also return in 2026. The optional add-on includes benefits such as fast-track access to the haunted houses and exclusive VIP areas at selected shows.

Family-friendly Halloween becomes the “Plopsa Herbstfest”

Alongside the Halloween Fright Nights, Plopsaland Deutschland is also expanding its family-friendly Halloween offering in 2026. The former “Kids Halloween” is being replaced by the new “Plopsa Herbstfest,” which will take place on every opening day from October 1 through November 1. While the Fright Nights are aimed at horror fans in the evening, the daytime program focuses on family-friendly autumn and Halloween entertainment.

For the festival, the park will be decorated with thousands of pumpkins, hay bales, flowers and other seasonal decorations. The program includes the new “Plopsa Kürbis-Dorf” (Plopsa Pumpkin Village), a pumpkin concert, various mini-games and the family show “Holly’s Halloween Party.” During the “Plopsa Halloween Festival,” popular Plopsa characters will also parade through the park on decorated floats and appear in special Halloween costumes throughout the season.

The Halloween Fright Nights themselves will take place on ten nights from October 2 through October 31, 2026, every Friday and Saturday.
