The 2026 Hamburg Sommerdom will take place from July 24 to August 30. “Try out the attractions, sample sweet and savory treats, and experience the great events and the unique Sommerdom atmosphere.” (hamburg.de)


Opening Hours and Event Dates

  • Monday through Thursday: 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
  • Friday and Saturday: 3:00 p.m. to midnight
  • Sunday: 2:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Every Wednesday
Every Wednesday is Family Day, featuring special offers at the rides and food stands.


Every Friday
On Fridays, there’s the famous fireworks display, which makes the cathedral sparkle and glow.

The last U-Bahn and S-Bahn trains run around 12:30 a.m. on weekdays. The U-Bahn and S-Bahn, as well as many MetroBus and StadtBus lines in Hamburg, run nonstop around the clock on the nights before Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.

Getting There by Bike
You can also ride a StadtRAD bike to the Hamburg DOM. The stations are located around the Heiligengeistfeld, at the St. Pauli / Millerntorplatz subway station, and at the Feldstraße / Marktstraße subway station. For more information about StadtRAD and the stations, visit StadtRAD Hamburg.

Traveling by Car
If you are traveling by car from outside the city, you can park your vehicle on the outskirts of the city and then continue your journey by public transportation. Please check the overview of available P+R facilities in advance.
