Directions & Parking
Getting There by Public Transportation
Take tram lines 3, 7, or 9 to the “Waterloo” station, or tram lines 3, 7, or 17 to the “Allerweg” stop. From either location, it’s a maximum of five minutes’ walk to the Schützenplatz. During the day, you can also reach the Schützenfest via the 100/200 sightseeing bus line from the “HDI-Arena” stop, which departs directly from Kröpcke, for example.
On Sunday (July 1), the regiobus lines 300, 500, and 700 will begin or end at their respective transfer stations: Wallensteinstraße (line 300), Wettbergen (line 500), and Ahlem (line 700). Passengers from the city center are advised to take light rail lines 3, 7, and 17 to transfer to regiobus lines 300 and 500. Passengers on line 700 are advised to take line 10 to Ahlem.
Take S-Bahn lines S1, S2, or S5 to “Bahnhof Linden/Fischerhof”; from there, it’s about a ten-minute walk. Alternatively, transfer to city rail lines 3, 7, or 17 to “Allerweg.” For travelers coming from outside the GVH area, the Deutsche Bahn Niedersachsen-Ticket is a good option.
Traveling by Car
As in any major city, parking in Hanover is difficult. There are hardly any parking spaces available around the Schützenplatz. We recommend using public transportation instead.
Traveling by Bicycle
Traveling by bicycle and finding a place to park it is absolutely no problem. A free bicycle parking area has been set up on Bruchmeisterallee.
